Bed & Breakfast

Best Kept Secret in Burgundy

Luxury Bed and Breakfast Burgundy - B&B Parc du Morvan - Luxury Boutique Hotel - Holiday Cottage - Weekly Rental - Self Catering  - Swimming Pool - Tennis

In the year 2000, Coen and Catherine bought Chateau de Villette in Poil, Burgundy and celebrated their wedding before starting a 2 years renovation. After the renovation, they decided to leave their busy life and settled down permanently at the domain. Catherine then opened the chateau for guests and started an prestigious B&B, which offers the service of a small luxury boutique hotel with1 family room and 4 double bedrooms.

On the estate of 500 acres you will also find two self-catering cottages, a swimming pool and a tennis court.

The chateau is located in the Regional Parc of the Morvan, close to Autun known as an old Roman town build for the Emperor August. Between Autun and Chateau de villette, there is a very interesting archeological site of Bibracte.

For the wine lovers, the chateau is close to the famous Burgundian wine villages such as Meursault, Pommard, Mercurey, Volnay, Puligny Montrachet, ...

Beaune, situated at about 75 km , is a great day trip to explore the Burgundian gastronomy and the wine;

After exploring the secrets of Burgundy during the day, nothing better then coming home at Villette to relaxing at the pool or in the gardens, once designed by André le Notre and enjoy the beauty of the Morvan hills with a nice glass of wine.

A few nights a week, Catherine prepares a nice table d'hôtes and spoils her guests with a gastronomic 4 course dinner.

Domaine de Villette

Tranquillity peace and unspoilt nature

The chateau lies in the visually stunning nature park of the Morvan hills. The parkland and setting of the estate is said to be one of the earlier examples of the work of André le Notre, famous for his designs of Versailles and Chantilly. In 2000, the gardens have been redesigned by Anthony Young, an English garden architect whose main priority was to respect the view of André le Notre.

Around the chateau, there are several gardens and courtyard. First there is the main courtyard, where breakfast is served in the summer. The second courtyard lays a little lower, planted with a large variety of fruit trees and box hedges. The ideal place to relax and read a book.

Next to this second courtyard, you will find the pool area with a stunning view over the land and the lake.

There are several footpaths behind the chateau which will take you to some very nice walks into the woods.

Luxury at the highest levels

Chateau de Villette is a private and stylish private home, formerly the playground of the French aristocracy. Between 2000 and 2002 it has been re-decorated and renovated.  It has sumptuous rooms with fine bed-linen, private bathrooms, period furniture, elaborate drapery, luxury beds, light and panoramic views.

In the sitting room there is a big fire place, a large sofa to relax, and a bar where you can help yourself with drinks all day long.

Good food and wine

All the dishes we serve include local ingredients and are typical to the region. Local haute cuisine with the finest wines from our private cellars can be enjoyed in the candle-lit formal dining room or on one of several outside terraces.
